I would like to thank Jane and Robert for opening my eyes to the way people live in the slums of Nairobi. I couldn’t believe how dirty it was and some places just stunk. But the local people were always happy and the children just wanted to say hi. Visiting the market was great and Jane helped me to bargain for second hand clothes. I was moved by the experience and will definitely tell everyone at home about the real part of Kenya I saw. It was interesting to see how people make a living as charcoal sellers, butchers, knife sharpeners or furniture makers it was unlike anything at home. This outing is in your face but Jane helped me to understand what this life is really like.

Thanks Jane and Robert for taking care of me. I knew that tourist experiences in Africa were often reduced to animals and clichés, but thanks to you, I really got an insight into daily life in Nairobi.

Besides the festive nights and the food discovery - I can't stop thinking about the sugar cane or the crispy tail of the roasted goat eaten with fingers!!! - it's the very pace of Nairobi I've been right into. The busy streets and markets, the daily issues of making a life in a paradoxical country, the chats with people from worlds apart, I've seen all but what I expected.

Thank you so much Jane for your guidance through Nairobi .
I think it was the highlight of my trip. I heard all the horror stories about the city but with you it opened so pleasantly. To see real Nairobi , Ethiopian food, Night clubs, different parts of the city especially the ones I wouldn't dare not to go alone and found out to be full of friendly people.

It was a pity that I had only a couple of days to stay there, I'd like to have
spent much more time.  I will definitely come back to Eastern Africa someday and bring some friends with me.
